Gratitude Chain: A Printable Thanksgiving Activity for Families,

It’s easy to focus on the turkey and mashed potatoes and other delicious foods, but the heart of Thanksgiving is gratitude. This Gratitude Chain printable Thanksgiving activity for families and friends is an ideal way to come together and see just how many things there are to be thankful for.

Gratitude activities are the ideal focus for the time in between pie and naps! Gather family and friends together to count your blessings and watch the gratitude chain get longer and longer.

Printable Thanksgiving activities are ideal, since no one wants more work on a holiday.

How to Make a Thanksgiving Gratitude Chain

This activity takes only a few supplies. I recommend printing and cutting the strips in advance, so you can get started right away.

  1. Fall colored cardstock or construction paper
  2. Paper Trimmer or Scissors
  3. Black Marker
  4. Quick Drying Paper Glue or Stapler

Print pages of thankful strips onto multicolored paper, and cut apart to make an easy Thanksgiving Day craft.  Each attendee can write their gratitude items onto the printed papers, and fasten the edges together through the previous link.

You can use glue, but I recommend simply stapling the links to avoid fussing with dry time.

Stapler attaching paper gratitude strip ends to make a circle link. More fall colored strips on white table in background.

May I use this in a public library setting? We would like to let our patrons fill out slips for the month of November and then use those strips to decorate for the month of December. It says for personal use, so I wanted to check and not just assume it was ok.

    1. Hi Allison, using these in libraries or classrooms is perfectly fine. Thanks for asking!

  2. Would love a Christmas version
