What all the well-dressed ankles are wearing this spring

Snazzy isn’t it?

This is what the orthopedist informs me is an improvement over the air cast I’ve been wearing for the last week and a half.  Riiiight.  It has to be laced, then two straps criss-cross over my foot and then under and around my ankle, then another strap has to be velcroed (yes, it’s a verb.  🙂 ) around the top.  Reverse process for brace removal.  The air cast was two quick and easy velcro straps.  This new brace doesn’t feel as supportive, but hey, I’m not a doctor.  I could be wrong.   I think by “improvement” he meant “we can charge for this one”.  🙂

But black is slimming, right?   Right???

I’m also under orders to undergo 2 weeks of physical therapy.  Hopefully that will allow me to get rid of the crutches.  I’d like to see them go.   If there is no improvement after the therapy, we’ll have to do an MRI, but the doc seemed optimistic.  I have my fingers crossed.

There’s a baseball game tonight.  I will be spending $5 in gas to make a 3 minute drive to the field.  Making it there accident-free?  Priceless.

Until next time…
