Two wrongs make…well…a bigger wrong.

Sometimes, there is a project floating around in my brain that needs to come out. Yesterday was one of those days. I had a free day to craft, completely alone (unless you count ABBA, which was blaring in the scrapcave), so I decided yesterday would be the day for The Idea to become a 3-D finished project. So I drug out all the materials I needed and set out to work.

And that’s where things went awry. I wasn’t anticipating the material I was working with to be quite so contrary. Or sharp! Poor Lauren was on the phone and had to hear me yelling “OW” at random intervals. And just when I thought I was done, I realize I needed layers and had to repeat the entire process, complete with “ow”s and grumbling. I may have chosen the wrong material.

When I finally finished the whole process I needed to paint the pieces, using the carefully chosen colors I bought the night before. The colors looked great in the bottle, not so much on the pieces of my project. Whoops! Wrong again! Mama said there’d be days like this!

But I am a very determined crafter! This project will turn out well, since I have been imagining it on my Designer Showcase table for weeks, it will just take a bit more than its allotted time frame to finish. The mojo fairy took a beating on this one! I’m not deterred, though, just laughing at the mishaps. I’m not sure if that’s a good omen for the project, or a sign that I’m delirious from too much show prep and too little sleep. 🙂

Just to keep myself accountable…my “to do” list for today:

Trip to JoAnn’s for buttons and wired ribbon (no sage buttons, rats!)
Bonus trip to Staples for $.01 school supplies!
Select and add photos to frame series
Add photo and title to layout-in-progress
Finagle a “right” from yesterday’s “wrongs” (colors corrected and “right” is back on track!)
Call for price adjustment on business card order

Wish me luck!

eta: You might have noticed I added tasks to the list and immediately crossed them off. I do that. It makes me feel good. After all, just because I didn’t add them to the original list, doesn’t mean they didn’t need done, right? 🙂

Until next time…
c.
